VoiceBBS

The PhreakTel Voice BBS is a telephone-based bulletin board system where callers can leave and listen to voice messages using nothing but a standard touch-tone phone. Think of it as a community message board, but instead of typing, you talk. Callers from anywhere can dial in, hear what others have left behind, and add their own voice to the board. It is a living, breathing party line frozen in time — one message at a time.

When you call in, you will be greeted with a menu. Press 1 to listen to messages, which play back in order from oldest to newest. While listening, press * to skip ahead to the next message, or # to go back to the previous one. Press 2 to record a message of your own. Press 3 at any time to hear instructions repeated.

When recording a message, press * to delete your recording and start over, press 1 to replay what you have recorded, or press # to save your message and post it to the Voice BBS for all future callers to hear. Please note that once a message has been posted, it cannot be deleted remotely — if you need a message removed after the fact, come see us at the booth and we will take care of it for you.
